Could this be appendicitis or something else?

Since Monday I have had a dull ache in my lower right abdomen. At first I thought it was possibly a urine infection as it felt worse when I had a full bladder, but I haven't had any other urinary symptoms and no fever.

It has progressively gotten worse and is really uncomfortable when I walk or put pressure on the area. It is not a stabbing pain, it is a dull pain and not excruciating. Sometimes when walking it feels like it radiates more to the side near my hip.

I have no signs of infection, no fever, no vomiting or diarrhoea, not constipated but have been passing more gas than usual.

Any ideas on what it could be? I will be calling my GP in the morning.

Might be an ovarian cyst.
Whatever it is, get it checked out.

It wouldn't be a "textbook" presentation of appendicitis but def worth getting checked out. Could be any number of things

I just checked my temperature to be sure as I don't feel fevered but it's 38.4. Think I'll give 111 a call when DH gets home.

Update, got told to go into a&e so spent most of the night there last night. The doctor there reckons it is my appendix. I am now currently in the general surgery clinic waiting to be seen by a doctor to see if I need surgery.

Good luck & glad you're being seen.

I had that sort of pain with my appendicitis - I was convinced I had a urine infection (well, initially I thought the waistband of my trousers was too tight!) when I went to my GP. He sent me straight to A & E "to rule out appendicitis" 😀

I was told I had several 'markers' for appendicitis however they couldn't tell for sure until surgery (keyhole) which I had about 18 hours after I arrived in A & E Turns out I had a gangrenous appendix which could have been pretty serious if left untreated. Doc said they had been "very worried" about me.

Good luck OP, hope the op goes well. I was unusual in that I was in for 9 days as I had an infection, had only expected to be in for 2 or 3 days, they said that's the norm.
