Lactulose

Hi
I've a horrid feeling that I've got a fibroid pressing on or near my bowel.
Had a pelvic scan today, but results will take a week to go through to the GP..

Bowel moments right now, are incomplete and it's driving me mad.
I've tried everything known to man.

Today, I bought a bottle of lactulose and plan to take it tonight, in the hope that it may work tomorrow!

Any success stories with lactulose please?

Thanks.

Lactulose is pretty rubbish imo.
Dulcoease may help but may need a few days of taking at night to get things really moving. Chia seeds are pretty effective, Google internal shower!
Dulcolax if you can’t go at all.

Ah thanks.
I have some chia and lemon.
Will give it a go tonight.

Reluctant to take dulcolax, as it gives me stomach pain, hence the lactulose purchase. I do have dulcoease and have been taking them.

Lactulose works brilliantly for me. Within an hour of taking it usually.

I might just neck a capful.
Nothing to lose and not going anywhere in this current state!
Thanks.

Take the full initial dosage - something like 35 ml but check the back of the bottle. Then you take a maintenance dose.

Does the lactulose cause any stomach pain or cramps?

It works well overnight for me. No cramps like you get with dulcolax, but it does make me a bit gassy 😬

I take a big dose of lactulose and it starts working 1-2 hours later. I just swig it from the bottle 😁

Glycerin suppositories saved me when having big issues postpartum. Nothing else worked and I was drinking lactulose by the gallon and made no difference. Even used my dads super strong suppositories that were prescribed before he had radiotherapy. I was able to fight all of it because of the pain, I couldn't resist the glycerin!! I was prescribed them but you can buy on Amazon. Hope you feel better soon, I really sympathise with you x

Thankyou so much.
It's a nightmare to be honest.
Ive never had an issue before, so it's got be investigated i think.

Will give the lactulose a blast and see where I get to.

Thanks again x
