Stomach ache

I was awake the whole of last night with a gripey pain in my lower abdomen. I didn’t have accompanying diarrhoea, although I did do around 6 bowel movements (🤢). The pain was unbearable when I was lying down, but abated when I stood up.

I just spoke to my DF who had exactly the same symptoms over 2 nights around a week ago. We haven’t seen each other recently so can’t have passed anything on. He was really relieved to hear I’d had these symptoms as he’d had blood/stool tests afterwards, because he was panicking about serious illness.

I guess my question is, does anyone know what these symptoms are?

Tummy bug? Stuff still flies around and I had this gripey pains when I had norovirus and it was horrible.

Also had them not long ago when I had loose stools. No one else has the tummy bug just me!

Had* the tummy bug. It was horrible and bad timing because the water pipe burst meaning the water had wasn't working 🤣

Thanks for this, I wonder if there’s a type of noro with no puking?

I had the same last night !!! So weird. Assumed it was the pizza I ate last night 😬

I didn't have the puking with it but the stomach cramps were horrendous

If your Dad has had blood in his stools, he needs to get medical attention. Could be an infection (my friend had blood in her stools from food poisoning) but even a bit of blood needs to be investigated.
I hope your symptoms settle. Could just be food related or a bug.

*GP is fine for your Dad. Doesn’t need to rush to Out of hours or anything

I had this in May! No one else around me had it. I was up both nights with excruciating stomach pains, only relieved by sitting on the toilet. Mine also had vomiting which was a relief as I felt so sick! I was away with a group of friends and we all ate the same thing so it likely wasn’t food poisoning but, my god, it was awful!

I think it depends on the bug because sometimes you just get cramps or loose stools without sickness etc and then other times you can get the whole lot, not nice at all!

I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Get plenty of rest and fluids in and hopefully you'll fight it off ASAP. X
