Piles

Have suffered on and off since I was pregnant over 24 years ago. Had a colonoscopy last month 3 internal piles found but nothing done as they weren’t bothering me. After a large bowel movement early Saturday morning I’ve been in agony. It looks like a very large internal pile coming out I’ve tried pushing it back in but after a few seconds it comes back out again. Currently using anusol cream. Any ideas what I can do to shrink it?

Hi Klopite.

I’ve had severe thrombosed external piles and was using Anusol suppositories and cream, with very little effect.

The only thing that worked for me was an ice pack, applied as often as I could tolerate, and raising the foot of the bed on books to take the pressure off when I lay down.

It’s awful, you have my sympathy.

If you have internal piles, you may be better off using suppositories and cream, also if you’ve had them a while maybe worth asking GP for something stronger than Anusol. Ice packs helped me
