Hi, before i start i am going to be making some calls tomorrow to my health group regarding this issue ,however just thought i would see if anyone else as had this issue..I had TKR on 19th June and last week i was driving with no issues ,also walking un aided around the house i also did a few 0.5 mile walks although i di take a crutch with me to help...I could do exercise and get my knee to 90% not great and my flat leg was % ..I had a private physio on Monday and assessment was good this was done a hour from home at the hospital i had the surgery ,my NHS physio was not due until Friday i got this assessment as they made a admin error for my designated local physio anyway i also had private physio on Thursday as i had some money in a private health scheme and all was good again..OK so i will move on to Friday on my visit to the NHS Physio i actually turned up with just one crutch as i was fine to drive and walk i even took the two flight of stairs to get to reception thats how confident and good i was feeling..However the physio took some information from me put me on the bed and did the first knee bend check and confirmed i was at 90% then she had me lift my were she cupped my ankle and said she was checking that all was ok and in line with my hip she twisted left right the forward back ,i felt no pain until i rotated to get off the bed and thats when the excruciating pain happened to the point i was nearly crying and screaming my leg felt like it was locked and every movement caused a pain she left me lying there were she had to get someone else to come in also another lady came in due to my crying out and take it from me i was not being soft i was in pain ...The main physio guy came to see me and just said up your pain killers and take something stronger,at this point i couldn't even put my shoes on and every movement was painful i eventually got one crutch and dragged my leg out ,i was told make a appointment for two weeks..I struggled getting out i had to get a taxi home and i went straight home to bed put my leg up and stayed there..The pain after physio started at 11.30 am and at 7.00pm the same evening my knee was swelled and bruised and i couldn't move without excruciating pain to the point i was taken to urgent care thinking i had damaged my knee ,i had a x-ray and bloods given morphine and a sleeping tablet was given all clear on x-ray and bloods ....Ok so move on to Saturday and no great improvement i can't do anything that i could just 24hrs earlier i cant wander round the house without crutches i cant do my exercises i just get lots of pain from the inside of my knee that is constantly there all the time i cant heel slide and the same is happening as i write this on Sunday ,i feel like i have gone backwards to day 1 after surgery i am so scared and worried at what could have happened in the space of a few minutes at the last physio ...Sorry about the long winded post but i feel so down and worried i have taken some ups and downs in my life but this as had me in tears since Friday evening ...As said i am going to make some calls tomorrow as to go from were i was to this something is not right ,when i did my exercises i got some soreness but it only lasted a minute or two so something on the left of my knee is so sore and i know thats not right as the private physio massaged that area and asked if it hurt and it did not ..As anyone who as had a knee replacement gone through anything like this ...

Sorry to hear this. Ive had 2 knees done years ago. Are you icing your knees at all? I iced for months, mainly before doing exercises as it gets any swelling down enabling you to exercise better.

i experienced more swelling and pain with my second one than the first.

are you resting enough? Its easy to over do it. I didnt drive until 6 weeks each time.

hope you can get it sorted.

It is obvious that the physio has injured your knee.
The same thing happened to a relative. You need a proper investigation including scan of your knee.
