Dodgy mole

Hello,
I have a dodgy looking mole which has gradually changed in size, shape and colour over the last few weeks. Went to the doctors who have referred me under the 2 week cancer pathway to see a specialist and was wondering if anyone had had this and what happens during the appointment?
Thanks.

They will look at the mole through a little scope and check to see if it has any of the characteristics of skin cancer. The derms see thousands of the things so know exactly what they're looking for. If they do think it warrants checking out, they'll remove and biopsy it fairly sharpish.

Try not to worry too much; I had a new mole appear a few years ago that recently became constantly inflamed and was changing. It turned out to be fine 😊 even if it is skin cancer, it'd very treatable by simply chopping the mole (and some surrounding skin) out, but don't go there until it's actually diagnosed.

I'm going through this too.

After the GP I saw a dermatologist who took a closer look and then referred me for surgery. It will be removed next month and will be sent off to a lab. Results are expected 4-6 weeks later.

Good luck 🤞🏻
