I am going a bit mad so wondering if any wise MNers who understand prescriptions can tell me if they think I need glasses for the attached prescription and if the suggested correction looks right (and what for -There is part of me that thinks the optician is simply selling me an extra pair of (expensive) glasses that I don't need. Hence asking on MN 😁): I have been back and forward to the optician since he said I needed glasses. I had been doing fine apart from feeling that I didn't see so well when driving at night and when reading really tiny wording on the back cosmetics packaging.
First he sold me (really expensive) varifocals which I tried for weeks and literally could not function with - massive headaches and strained eyes. I now have 'occupational lenses' and feel like my eyes are straining all the time I am wearing them.
The optician tells me that my eyes are compensating for each other so I need glasses to stop them straining but I feel like now I am wearing glasses for computer work and reading that my eyes are straining all the time I am wearing them and that my vision when not wearing them has really deteriorated - I used to have no problem reading anything apart from absolutely tiny writing but now struggle until I have not worn glasses for a while.
The optician tells me I'll also need to buy distance glasses for driving - which is fine as I already felt the need for that but I don't want to shell out more money for another pair of frames and lenses until I have the first ones sorted.
