I had toothache bad enough to wake me during the night a fortnight ago. I went to the dentist, but she couldn't find anything wrong, (x-rays couldn't reach far enough to see) advised me to floss and clean with the little scrubber things, and that was that.

I have brushed, flossed, cleaned with the scrubbers twice daily, used Corsodyl mouthwash and gel as well and it seemed to be less painful.

However, I've now got a bit of a mushy gum, and I'm getting a bit of shooting pain around my ear. My bite seems different, and I just know there's something not right.

I'm just checking you all think I'm right to get another appointment to see what's what? I was going to leave it till Monday to see how it is, but do you think I should go tomorrow?

Thanks

I would go back personally but I don't understand why they couldn't get an x-ray in the first place? Sometimes they have to wait for the symptoms to localise (may be they have now with the gum development) before they know which tooth is the culprit. An x-ray would have helped though especially if decay is involved. Sometimes though even without decay a nerve can die in your tooth and then you likely need root canal treatment to save it.

It was my fault she couldn't get the x-ray, I gagged too much.

I went back today and she managed to x-ray it, but it's still not showing anything on the tooth, but my gum is infected, so I've got antibiotics for the first time in a very long time. She did the electric thing on my teeth and they're all very much alive! 😂
