Crusty bleeding mole

So I have a mole / spot / nodule on my back which has been there for years and it's about 4mm diameter. Every so often it seems to get sore and itchy for no obvious reason and I scratch I the top off it, it gets crusty and bleeds, and then eventually heals up and I forget about it again.

I'm now worrying that perhaps it could have been cancerous all along? But wouldn't it have grown bigger by now if that was the case? Or I would have had other symptoms? I've literally had it for years. It's generally a pink colour and appears to have regular borders.

Can moles sometimes do this and not be cancerous?

Regardless please get it checked. I've just had a cancerous lump removed from my skin and it had not spread but please gey peace of mind and get it checked.

Itchy crusty bleeding moles always need checking . Changes are important to check out to give you peace of mind if nothing else . If it is something the quicker you get to it the better .

Sounds a bit like basal cell carcinoma. Go see a derm. BCC is a malignant growth BUT rarely dangerous. I had a BCC growth removed about 2 years after it was misdiagnosed as seborrhoeic keratosis... I was worried at first but the derm said that old age would kill me before BCC did.

Ok thank you. I will get it checked, I don't really know why I haven't in the past to be honest. But reassuring to know hopefully it's not too dangerous. Hopefully.

Agree sounds like a bcc, please get it checked op, all the best.
