Dark brown mucus in stool

I have dark brown mucus in my stools, quite a lot of it. It's definitely mucus, but is basically the exact same colour as the poo it surrounds. I have IBS and I know you can get mucus from IBS, but when I Google it always says it's white or light brown - it never seems to mention mucus the same colour as your poo. I had a clear colonoscopy 2.5 years ago.

Sorry know it's a bit grim, but does anyone else get this?

Sometimes I get orange mucus? I just assumed the mucus had become stained by what I had eaten/the poo!

Yeah I get that too. But this is definitely dark brown 😕

Its probably just gone that colour from mixing with the stool? I wouldn't worry about it. Colours you generally want to be worried about are red, maroon or black I think
