My daughter has some strange marks on her arm, not as a result of any particular injury. They have just appeared over last couple of days.

I’m not sure what they are! Any ideas?

Eczema?

BooksAndHooks · 20/07/2023 06:33

Has she carried a bag or something over her arm that’s rubbed?

LDA123 · 20/07/2023 07:46

She says not…. On both arms too.

I was wondering if it looked like eczema

They’re broken capillaries. Like tiny bruises.

It can happen if you scratch too hard. Has she had itching in those areas?

I agree with you. Maybe she had a bug on her arm in her sleep and scratched without realising.

My dd went through a period in her early teens when she kept getting these odd bruise-like rashes. Mostly on her chin and torso. She was otherwise well, and the rashes were not in any way painful or itchy. After a year or two they stopped appearing. I wondered whether they were anything to do with puberty and growth.

Possible stress related eczema in the elbow grooves. Can also get from carrying a school bag in the grooves/on the arm.

Definitely look like scratch marks, bruised blood. I have stress eczema and the inside of my arms is where it starts and is intensely itchy.

Agree with this. Definitely doesn't look like eczema.
