I don't drink tea - our staffroom has given up providing milk, so I just drink hot water now. is still nice and doesn't matter if it goes cold.

weird I know

TheBlonde · 25/02/2008 23:00

I drink about 10 cups a day

Try redbush.
I love it, drink far more of it than I ever did the other stuff.

I need to drink something without tannins - do Green tea and redbush have tannins?

Might have to switch to coffee I suppose

Redbush is caffeine-free and low in tannins.

Don't know if that will do for you?

I like it cos it's very "tea-like", iyswim.
I have milk in it, and I wouldn't do that with any herbal tea.

TheBlonde · 26/02/2008 14:32

I suppose it's worth a try

I no longer drink tea. I drink peppermint tea now, it's lovely!

wheelybug · 26/02/2008 14:37

redbush is a good alternative. I have cut down to only drink real tea first thing - I may have 2 cups or I might have a coffee later but other than that try and stick to redbush.

cadelaide · 26/02/2008 14:43

I've just had a cup and thought about it and come to the conclusion that it's more robust than herbal teas.

I used to drink about 10 cups of tea per day. Like you I decided I needed to cut down, so I gave redbush try and I love it. I now drink tons of the stuff and only have 1 - 2 cups of ordinary tea per day.

Here's a word of warning tho. Originally I tried to go cold turkey and stopped drinking tea altogether. I startde getting headaches and on the secong day I was so bad it was awful. Felt like I was goona faint, be sick, serious migraines, Jut terribly, an ordeal i'd really rather not repeat. So cutting down gradually is the best way to do it.

I think I like redbush so much because, like cadelaide says you can put milk in it and it tastes really nice. I actually prefer it now over my usual cup of tea.

we drink green and white tea and sometimes redbush..I think the good antioxidant effects outweigh any tannin concerns
