So it sounds like you have some kind of inflammatory bowel disease. Could be colitis, coeliac or something like that

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it i just couldn't understand all of it so do you think that's why they took so many biopsies then? Thank you

Yes they'll be checking how much it's affected you so far. Those ulcers are caused by malabsorption with comes with the territory of inflammation. The patchy mild erythema is inflammation which is caused by some type of inflammatory bowel disease. Hope this helps you

Hi, looks like they have taken a few biopsies from different areas in the bowel. Working from the far end of the large bowel, (caecum) towards the end (rectum)
They will describe each area they have either taken biopsies of of have photographed.
the erythema is redness. Can be caused by inflammation, (Crohns , Colitis)
but can also be caused by the bowel preparation you would have had to have taken. The ulcers can be a sign of inflammatory bowel disease, so biopsies taken to check under microscope. This all sounds like normal samples to take when the bowel is red, has ulcers and you may have been having symptoms, bleeding, pain , change in bowel habit .
Hope this helps .

Did you have a faecal calprotectin test? If not your GP can normally request one. This shows the level of inflammation you have and is a useful additional indicator of inflammatory bowel disease
