Singing , blowing up balloons and playing a wind instrument help, but the biggest help is losing weight particularly if your neck is over 18 inches as a man , 17 inches if a woman , not drinking alcohol excessively , stopping smoking and not lying on your back.
Always be aware of possibility of sleep apnoea (stopping breathing for a while during sleep) , see your gp if you have signs of sleep apnoea.

Dh is fit, active, not overweight, does not smoke, and drinks very little alcohol. But he does sleep on his back. His snoring has got so bad that he snores even on his side.

Interestingly, he has never been able to blow up balloons.
