Anyone had a Jaw lesion/cyst?

Just that really.
I’m on 2WW referral so evidently terrified.
had an open biopsy on Friday and have been told 4 weeks for histology on the sample. Seriously?! Is that normal.
I once had a benign tumour (in my 20s, I’m now almost 50) and they told me it wasn’t cancerous before i had fully come round from the General Anaesthetic.
Any experiences on jaw cysts, lumps, would be welcome distraction and useful info so in the statistically less likely event that anyone has been in this situ, please do reply! Thanks

Yes, in my mid twenties. It was picked up incidentally as part of an MRI on my ear due to bad hearing loss.

I had a very simple day opp biopsy and removal as it was contained. I was home my late afternoon. I was given painkillers and antibiotics. First night was a little uncomfortable. But I was ok after that. Just being careful not to sleep on the op side. It did bleed on occasion. But healed very quickly. I was eating soft food on the other side of my mouth day two and was eating normally after a fortnight.

Back at work after a week, on reflection that was a little early. Downside was I lost a couple of teeth at the back.

I wish you all the luck and fingers crossed for a swift recovery.

A friend had this, big cyst in jaw. It was fine in the end. I think she had it filled with some bone graft and it all healed up. Try not to worry!

Thank you for the replies. Just popped on to say that my biopsy came back negative for cancer cells but a full biopsy will be done once the cyst is removed.
for anyone reading, I have a rare Odontogenic Keratocyst apparently.
not especially looking g forward to surgery but will be glad to have it removed.
