Sciatica?

I had some issues a few weeks ago with pains. The pains were travelling on my right side - sometimes hips, sometimes knees, sometimes feet andsometimes even right shoulder. It was all so odd. I never got any formal diagnosis. It was short lived.

Now, I think I might have sciatica. There's more pain and it's more pronounced in my hips and bum and when I walk and take steps and sometimes there's some pain in knees and some weakness.

I'm ok a lot of the time but then other times, I am sore.

Is this sciatica?

Would an exercise ball help for stretching?

I obtopted a supplement regegime a few years ago that looks like this:

  • morning: vitamin c, folic acid, iron
  • after breakfast: vitamin d and k2
  • after lunch: vitamin e
  • before bed: magnesium

It was usually always like that.

Then at the start of June I got cornered into a work schedule that was somewhat intense. Work was long and hard and I was out of my routine because a lot of my waking minutes was work related and I stepped out of my supplement regime. Not on purpose. I was just so busy and so tired too.

Then I had a holiday away from work. By my own holidays, I was beginning to experience the effects of stepping out of the supplement regime. I was having night time leg cramps every night. I was so tired too. There was someone trying to pull on my time and energy and it felt like I wasn't allowed 5 minutes for myself.

I wonder if stepping out from the supplements regime have anything to do with the pains I am experiencing now?

It definitely sounds like sciatica. I have it too. The thing that really helps me is visiting an osteopath. Then doing the stretches they advise at home.
I would be careful to do anything with a stretching ball until given professional advice in case you do something to make it worse.
