Didn’t really know what to call this I need to advise if anyone else’s child has had this It’s been going on for a month now.

On 17th June my daughter (age 2) came out in some blisters just dotted around, mainly on her torso area only one of the back of her leg. I thought it was chicken pox a few days later she didn’t develop any more and they started to get bigger and sore so rang the doctors over the phone appointment they said it was infected insect bites got given liquid antibiotics… they eventually healed but they’ve left a smooth brown patch where they all was.
Then on the 3rd of July she got one on her arm (this is the worst one) same thing happened with that started as a blister got bigger and bigger took her to the doctors again in person this time they said it’s either ring worm or discord eczema got given some cream like a steroid and antibiotic in one . A week later the cream wasn’t doing anything and she got 2 more blisters so took her back and this doctor said he had no idea what they are and was going to speak to a skin doctor now I’m just waiting back from them got a appointment on Monday, he gave me a antibiotic and a steroid cream to use for a week on her arm whist we wait but she’s got more blisters now that are starting to get bad like the other ones .
I’m so upset her body just looks a mess and I just want answers to what it is.
can anyone help????

ill post a picture of how they start, during and how they heal and the last picture is what her body looks like now with all her new ones and the scar

Have you heard of skeeter syndrome? It's basically an allergy to mosquito bites. I've left with round patches like your daughters and they've healed without trace. Just a guess though, hopefully the skin doctor will give you the answer.

Poor baby they look so sore.

Lauren8642 · 17/07/2023 22:57

@yummyscummymummy01 I don’t know where she would have got bit my a mosquitos and they’ve kind of come randomly in the space of a month. Me and her dad haven’t experienced anything x

Looks like very angry molluscum contagiosum.

Lauren8642 · 17/07/2023 23:19

@MellowMelly she only has the blister for about 2-4 days then it goes like the second picture. Is there a cure for molluscum contagiosum?

Molloscum

dementedpixie · 18/07/2023 12:23

I dont think its molluscum as they are more like skin tags than blisters

dementedpixie · 18/07/2023 12:25

Almost looks shingles like on that last picture

dementedpixie · 18/07/2023 12:26

Maybe a herpes type rash

MellowMelly · 18/07/2023 17:06

@Lauren8642 they are also fondly known as water warts.

It is viral so will clear up on its own eventually. Some doctors will treat infected ones with antibiotics. It’s contagious so make sure you take precautions.

dementedpixie · 18/07/2023 17:14

Molluscum don't tend to form blisters though. I'm not sure that's what it is

margegunderson · 18/07/2023 22:02

Molluscum I think

kiwivick87 · 18/07/2023 22:05

Looks like mollucum .

kiwivick87 · 18/07/2023 22:05

Molluscum even !

Lauren8642 · 21/07/2023 22:41

They’ve got more angry back on antibiotics and Antihistamines till we wait for the dermatologist 😔

Oh nooo. I’m so sorry. If it is Molluscum, it could be weeks or months for the virus to work its way out. Might be a great idea to support her immune system as much as possible during this time. Especially as she is on antibiotics again. Have a look at some children’s probiotics perhaps to bolster up her gut. A healthy gut helps support the immune system.

dementedpixie · 21/07/2023 23:51

I dont think its molluscum and if its viral then antibiotics won't help

MillicentBystandr · 22/07/2023 00:11

Have a check for bed bugs while waiting for a derm. It’s possible that’s a severe allergic reaction to bed bug bites.

Lauren8642 · 22/07/2023 06:57

@MillicentBystandr i don’t think it’s bed bugs I’ve checked her bed no signs of blood or poo marks also regular wash her bedding on a 60. And most of her spots are on her torso, with the odd few on her arms. She’s got none on her legs and for bed she’s been wearing a nighty so you’d think her bites would be on her legs and arms

We used to give them antibiotics if we had suspicions they could be infected or could get that way. Especially the lesion on the arm which looked particularly sore the other day with, possibly, open areas of skin.

I hope you get your derm appointment soon for her @Lauren8642

TheOwlChronicles · 22/07/2023 19:27

Impetigo?

coco121 · 16/11/2023 16:00

@Lauren8642 Did you find out what it was in the end? I think my daughter has the same and we are stuggling to get a diagnosis or anything that will clear it up. Thanks x

Lauren8642 · 16/11/2023 16:45

@coco121 They finally went after her probably 5th lot of antibiotics. We finally had a dermatology appointment last week after doctors said we got put on “urgent” wait list 🙄 I showed them the pictures and it said it looked like bullous impetigo caused from a infected eczema patch she had on the crease of her arm. They was a bit appalled that that the doctor didn’t do a swab because then that would have gave them the answer to what it was and what anti biotic she needed. She is all scarred from where they were but the women said that will fade over time. X

@Lauren8642 oh what a poor little one! The waiting lists are appalling aren't they. Really hope the scars fade quickly for her. We are on our second round of antibiotic creme and may request a swab if they don't stop getting bigger. Thanks for your fast response x
