Forgot statin...on hols

I take 2mg every night
It'll be 6 days til I get home...Will it be OK?

I'm not a doc but it should be fine as cholesterol takes a while to build up.

I stopped taking mine completely (due to side effects) and it took 2 lots of blood tests for my rise in cholesterol to show up.

Statins are fine to stop and start like that - they're a slow acting drug, both to start and to flush out of your system. It'll make no difference to you, just pick up where you left off when you get home.

(re-reads) 2mg? Even if you typo'd that for 20mg, that's a pretty low dose anyhow. I'm on 80mg plus another anti-cholesterol drug. You're in no danger whatsoever, don't worry about it at all.

I ran out of mine because Pharmacy forgot to reorder,I was told not to worry about missing a few days of them.This was this week.Sure you will be fine.

Just go to a pharmacy and see if they can help

Don't worry.. stopped mine twice for a year for 2 pregnancies.. caused no problems for me! I started up again when it was "safe" to do so. Won't make any difference to you for 6 days.. as a previous poster said, statins are a slow building drug, the same way they take time to wash out of your system (it takes months). Relax and enjoy your holiday!
