Blood test results

I had a blood test recently, the doctor says no action required. However, my Serum Ferritin is 13ug/l which looks to be below the normal range. It has been marked as borderline. But no need to waste a doctors time. Would this be low enough to leave me feeling absolutely exhausted all the time.

100% if there's anything I know about is iron deficiency :)

They need to check what's causing the deficiency and put you on tablets ASAP.

I become symptomatic with a ferritin of 50 and my ideal levels are around 90 just so you get an idea.

Depending on how decent your GP is, you can go and talk to them about iron deficiency (different trusts will have different treatment plans) OR
You wait a couple of months and your iron deficiency will become anemia and then THEY have to do something.

Thank you, ill try to get an appointment. There were other results but it said all were in the normal range. Vit D was 82 and B12 331 so I think that B12 is normal, but lower end of normal as well.

The NHS CKS for iron deficiency (Google it) gives a cut off of 30 for iron deficiency, so you are well below that. Have a read and then go back and bang the table!

B12 needs to be over 500 and folate close to the top of the range to be optimal.
