  • ds is 10 and says it hurts (a lot) it's tiny, the dark centre is only 2mm across

I don't think so. My kids have never had pain with ticks. They have been brown, and you can see the legs poking out. Dd last one looked a scab proud of her skin but resisted being picked off which is what made me more certain it was a tick. If it was scab it would have brushed off

It could be but the centre is very regular and round. Is the centre very dark, shiny and raised from the skin? You usually see the legs tucked in close to the skin.

Check with a magnifying glass for legs. I keep a small one with the tick hooks.

This is a tiny tick on my leg from a few weeks ago

No redness while stuck in

(It was twisted out quite quickly)

That one looks like a spider bite to me?

Nurse at minor injuries triaged over the phone and asked for a photo- she initially suggested molluscum but called us in for a face to face appt. She thinks it's a bite ( but didn't know what) and as the redness is spreading prescribed antibiotics. Thanks all.
