Chronic nausea AFTER period

For the last two months, when my week’s period has almost finished, I’ve woken up with severe nausea that has lasted up to 10 days. I haven’t been sick, but the nausea was extreme 10/10, constant, I couldn’t eat, different anti-sickness tablets weren’t helping, GP seemed uninterested, basically it was such an awful and sustained feeling I just wanted to die.

I don’t know if it’s a coincidence that it started after my period, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same. GP has put it down to gastritis (though all blood tests & stool test have come back negative 🤔) but with it happening twice at the same time in my cycle I want to explore hormonal causes.

Thanks for any advice, dreading my next period now!

PS. I’m 35, never had this happen with my period before.

I am experiencing this right now.

I am 36. Had my second child 18 months ago. On my final days of current period where it is tailing off. I have such bad nausea. Like I want to be sick, woozy and sometimes dizzy when I stand. I even considered food poisoning but nothing is coming up or out so thinking maybe it's hormones. Wondering if this is common as we age as women?!
My cycles have also decreased to 23 days. Not sure if this has any bearing. Is this the first time it's happened for you?

I sometimes get horrible nausea in the lead up to ovulation, as I have a short cycle I usually ovulate around day 10 or 11 which with a 5-6 day period can mean I go straight from the last day of my period to pre-ovulation nausea / diarrhoea. I also get the dizziness sometimes.
