anyone had significantly heavier periods following birth?

am part way through my second period since 7mo ds2 was born

it's so much heavier than i've had before - having to chnage tampons during the night for example

and i feel wiped out

please oh please let it settle back down to normal

Tis very normal Tutter sorry! It does settle after a few though. The second period post partum is normally the first full period IYSWIM because the first one is just your body testing the waters and checking all is well.

If it continues, you may need a short course of nefamic acid or tranxemic acid to reduce blood flow for a few months. Then it will reduce.

yes and I gave birth 19 months ago lol mine didnt return for 14 months but are now very very heavy

Don't think it goes 100% back to normal. Mine much heavier (DD1 is 5, DD2 18 mths) - same as you, having to change in the night, super plus tampons only thing and even then changing them every couple of hours or so during the day ... only for first couple of days though. Now back on pill which will sort them out.
