Gallstones what a pain but no pain

Looking for people's experiences with gallstones.

A routine blood test showed I had elevated liver enzymes so ref for an ultrasound. At the time I was ref for the ultrasound I was fine.

But a week before the ultra sound I began to get mild discomfort on the right side just below the rib, along with horrendous nausea and bloating. Along with feeling like I have a cold or flu aches, muzzy head etc.

Ultrasound was inconclusive due to the amount of gas but did highlight a dilated bile duct, but no blockage seen. And an enlarged gallbladder with some stones and half full sludge.

Ref for MRI.

Dr said need clear image worried and asked for it to be made urgent. Did say could be tumor because no stone visible in duct on ultra sound. This has scared me but also said just as likely gallstones.

Since then the symptoms above have got worse but still no pain just rising discomfort on right belly and just bellow breast bone. I've lost about half a stone in two weeks. As I feel so ill. also discomfort on left side in very specific point almost in groin

Has anyone had a blocked bile duct with similar symptoms? I am so worried.

I had mine out emergency close to rupture having never had any pains. I used to get a "stitch" right under my rib cage every so often but it would pass within a short time. It disappeared after my operation though so I've realised that was my "pains"

The week before the almost rupture (surgeon said he estimated I was 1/2hour of rupture) I ended up in hospital and on morphine due to pain. At one point my skin was turning yellow (as I was off on morphine I thought it was the coolest thing) the yellow took months to disappeared and omg its the worst pain I've ever known.

Prior though I was pretty much fine. I also mostly am fine now 15 years on. I have ibs so I struggle to work out what is IBS symptoms and what is lack of gallbladder. As I know loose stools can be gallbladder but it's also how my IBS acts. Its rare though I consider the lack of .

So MRI showed englarged bile ducts but no obvious causes. Liver enzyme blood tests redone with similar high levels.

Ref for an endoscopy now. Wondering what it could be now as things like gallstones should have showed up. Hopefully it won't be something serious. But again surly a tumor would show up.

Sorry to hear you're no further forward. Are you still feeling bad?

Thanks. Good days and bad days. But definitely bloated to a degree especially after eating.

Hi.I’m going through similar - bad bloods, followed by red-flag ultrasound showing blocked ducts, CT scan which was inconclusive and MRI on Sunday morning. I’m scared, but taking it day by day. Hope you’re getting on ok - solidarity to you.
