Diverticulitis

Has anyone been diagnosed with diverticulitis before? If so, what were your key symptoms?

I'm going out of my mind at the moment. Had this pain in my left side since February; it's tender to the touch. Cant twist to the left or lie on left side.

CT didn't reveal anything other than a bulky uterus. I'm suspecting fibroids are too blame somewhere.

Bloods revealed nothing untoward.

Got a pelvic scan in two weeks.

Had loads of abdominal pain and bloating, particularly after eating.

Trying to work out what it could be?

My DH has it, confirmed by an internal CT scan last year, although GP thought he had it, his Mum had it. When he gets a bad flare up he gets antibiotics which helps. Unfortunately he does spend a lot of time going to the toilet and sometimes we cannot go out until he’s emptied his bowels as he will be in pain. Nurse told him when he had a colonoscopy that papaya fruit and bananas were good for controlling this condition, which we have seen as an improvement. His pain is lower left side which is where his colon has the diverticulitis.
