Was this a seizure?

Hi,

Last week I collapsed in the local supermarket, can't remember a think. My friend said I just began to stare blankly then started to jerk with dribble and snot all over my face (TMI - sorry) I then went to the ground and remember waking up and being unable to move my hands, shaking uncontrollably and being so cold.

I was taken in an ambulance and at hospital they said it wasn't a seizure as I'd not lost control of my bladder/bowels etc. has very low blood pressure and was discharged some hours later.

I've took it easy this weekend and not driven since as I have a terrible brain fog and sense of confusion. Last night in the night something happened...I woke up sweating yet shivering, I'd wet myself, couldn't move my arm, I'm not even sure I was awake but I was aware of these things. I have woken up this morning barely able to string a sentence tonight, shakey, extremely weak.

I have made an appt at the doctors with a paramedic later this morning. DH is going to drive me there.

What the heck is happening to me? I'm feeling kind of tearful and not with it this morning. It's taken me over an hour to type this post for brain fog.

Sounds like it might have been, you need to go to A&E to rule out anything else though too like a stroke or infection that might be causing you to feel so unwell.

I had a clinic tonic seizure suddenly at home last Friday. I didn't wet myself etc. I'm now recovering after my life was turned upside down. I can relate to the brain fog.

Clonic*

I would definitely push for a neurology assessment. My husband had a similar episode, including the low blood pressure after the episode, no loss of bladder etc. He was eventually diagnosed with epilepsy, following a 24 hour sleep deprived EEG. His symptoms had more pointed to something cardiac-related, so had gone private to see a cardiologist and had a heat loop monitor fitted.

Please ask for a neurology assessment, it sound's like a seizure.
You don't have to have lost control of your bowels and bladder for it to have been a seizure, it's very odd that the doctor at the hospital didn't know that! I have seizures which only affect my left arm and leg for example.

Thanks everyone!

Gp didn't seem worried and said next time get someone to video it! I won't be driving anytime soon as terrified it could happen again. It's really shook me up and the brain fog is terrible.
