It’s a steriod in case you are wondering to help loads of different autoimmune illnesses Crohns etc if you do how are you getting on with it

It’s Budesonide I think. I took it for a few months to tackle a Crohn’s flare and for me it was magic stuff. Healed the flare up but without the nasty side effects of prednisiolone. My brother also took it but didn’t work as well as pred for him so it does vary.

Oh that’s interesting I’m about to start 9mg have got to be changed from pred as have been on that many years but suffered awful side effects, do you remember what dosage you were on IShouldBeSleeping

I've been taking it for a fortnight or so for newly diagnosed IBD along with Mesalazine suppositories. It seems to be helping with the bleeding and mucus and last couple of days I've had normal poo (I never thought this would be such a source of celebration)

Still fatigued and not really putting on weight (but not losing it either) No real side effects for me

DD is currently on a 10 week course of this to treat an IBD flare up. Seems to be working ok so far although we're still in the first few weeks. She was on prednisone before which worked brilliantly but the side effects (moon face and hair loss etc) weren't so great for a self conscious child.

It was 9mg to start with, tapering down to 3mg over a few months
