Medical Abortion

Hi
So long story short I am 17 and got pregnant.
I decided I wanted to abort so I went through with medical abortion at 7 weeks and 3 days on Wednesday taking the first medication of the two.
I just want reassurance.

TRIGGER WARNING

So I took my misoprostol on Thursday at around 9pm and not even 20 minutes later I began to cramp horribly, now I'm used to bad periods, I'm a heavy period girl, but this was horrible.

Within around an hour or less I began to bleed very heavily and after an hour and a half or two hours I passed 3 big clots and lots of little ones. I looked at one big one and it was the size of about four fifty pence pieces put in a square. (I'll add a photo for reference) Half of it was skin coloured and the other half red and it was almost veiny. It was firm yet slightly squishy and jelly like at the same time. Now I believe this was it. However I have anxiety and I overthink hugely.

I am still bleeding (Saturday night now) and passing very small clots and pieces of what looks like tissue. My pregnancy symptoms are gone but I'm still just so worried everything will come back.

Do YOU think it was successful? 😅

If you took both as instructed and passed tissue it’s unlikely to have failed, it’s an effective medication.

Thank you
Sorry to be a bother.

That sounds exactly like my miscarriage which did complete.

They told me to retest after 3 weeks as it should be negative so maybe try the same? Although you might want to check that works the same in a medical abortion.

It’s not a bother. 17 and pg is a scary place to be no matter what you decide to do with the pg.

Okay thank you
Yes I test in 3 weeks but it's a long time to wait with anxiety

It really doesn't sound like there is still a pregnancy in there. Hope it went ok - the worst but is over now! Yes do a pregnancy test in three weeks but I'm sure it will be negative. Don't test early as there might be hormones still in your system and a positive test would be very stressful for you.
Also, if for any reason it didn't work (basically impossible) there are lots of ways they can manage this x
