Bleeding heavily during sex .....HELP !!!!!!!!!

Hi
I've just started sleeping with a new man in my life. I'm not sure how to put this but he is rather large down below . "Great, Brilliant" I thought "the biggest I've ever had in my life" (and I've had a few).

But I was horrified last night to find that I bled so heavily during intercourse that we had to stop. The sex itself wasn't painful, it was the tip of his penis felt like it stabbed my cervix and he couldn't go any further in and believe me he could alot further in if I hadn't felt this pain.

Now I'm not on the pill, we used a condom, but I haven't had sex for about 18 months since I split with my ex (who I might add wasn't so big in the privates department). I'm in my mid 30's so I have had a pretty active and fullfilled sex life, but this has NEVER happened to me before. I am almost scared to try it again not too mention it was quite embarrassing even though my new man was ok about it. I'm still bleeding a little now.

I am calling the docs tomorrow but has anybody else experienced this, Does it keep happening? Will it stop? But more importantly, What could it be?
Thanks

I have a cervial erosion which can sometimes bleed. Could be that, but (as you are already doing) the docs need to check it out.

colander · 24/02/2008 19:49

ooops - cervical erosion

NickiSue · 24/02/2008 19:50

this happened to my sister a few weeks ago. It was a tear in her cervix and she had it checked out. She's now back to 100%

Singleton · 24/02/2008 20:02

Thanks going to definately call to get an appointment tomorrow.

NickiSue did your sister continue to bleed after sex? Thats what is really worrying me if it is a tear of some kind. It could just keep tearing couldn't it ?

Happens to me too. Had a smear done and doc said i have a cervical polyp so having it checked out on Thursday. Not looking forward it

NickiSue · 24/02/2008 20:07

She did for a while and then it tapered off afetr a day or two (wasnt very heavy afterwards).
I wouldnt worry too much hun but make sure you ask the docs any questions there and then for reassurance. Apparen.tly she has no reason to worry about another tear so long as she left it to heal properly

Keeping my fingers crossed and I'm so gutted because I made a real effort last night, nice make up, sexy underwear and then THAT happens !!!!

Typical eh!

Happened to me during different times in my life for two different reasons. Firstly, changes to cells in cervix (pre-cancerous) which needed treating and a couple of years later cervical erosion. Needs sorting.

colander · 25/02/2008 22:00

fivecandles - can I be rude and ask how you sorted your cervical erosion? I have been told that mine can be cauterised... but the thought of being cauterised up there makes me squirm...Thanks

singleton how did you get on at drs?

Singleton · 26/02/2008 08:36

I have been booked in for a smear and swabs (for infections but know that previous to my new man I had been with the same guy for 10 years and had HIV test and Clamydia and I used a condom with my new fella so I know I'm infection free).
The doc also said that I may need to be cauterised, if the smear turns up any problems.
He seems to think it could be that I've tightened up in the 18 months of not having any sex and then to have a larger man has probably caused trauma to the entrance of my cervix.
I've stopped bleeding now but he said to abstain from sex till I get the results from my smear e.t.c.

What is cauterised? It sounded a bit scary.
