Sore, dark red gum above tooth?

Hello,

cut a long story short. My gum feels very tender above a certain tooth when I press on the gum (even if I rub my face it feels tender on that gum. No swelling, no lump that I can see.

I was put on antibiotics doxycycline for a infected gnat bites.

I was worried dental abscess but haven’t got an appt at dentist until 25 July and today is the 8th July

Rinse your mouth with salty water a few times a day until you can get to the dentist

If it gets worse you may need an emergency appt

Sounds like a bit of gum disease or something could be stuck up under the gum
