I know this sounds like a stupid question but when you insert them are you supposed to push them in as far as you can.

I don’t think I got it in all that far as when I went to the toilet not much came out.

Also laying on your left side is meant to help though I can't remember why.

Lying on the left side takes advantage of the natural direction of the rectum. Helps to use lubricating jelly and it's not so much where it gets to but how long you can hold it in for

You’re not supposed to take them out, they should melt eventually. Make sure you dip them in water first before inserting.

Nurse here, just push the suppository until it slips into your bottom. Your anal sphincter will close around it and keep it in place. The suppository will stimulate a bowel movement, all you have to do is wait until you want to go.
