Support aids for sleeping with shoulder pain

My mum has injured her shoulder quite badly, and rest is the only treatment at the moment (plus painkillers). It’s been a couple of weeks and she is really struggling to sleep in a bed, and can only sleep in a chair. She just can’t get comfortable in bed.

I was thinking I could buy her some kind of support to help her sleep in bed but half sitting up. I’ve had a look on Amazon and can see a few ideas of cushions, but it would be great to know if anyone has found something that worked.

Alternatively I’m open to any other suggestions of what might help!

I have had terrible shoulder pain, and for a time, I could only sleep in a reclining armchair.
Eventually, I discovered that I could lay on my good side with my bad arm resting on a pile of pillows in front of me. This works best if I only have one pillow under my head, so my head, neck, and spine are aligned. I also have a pillow between my knees, although that's more for my lower back.

I can also sleep propped up, but with a pillow on my bad side to prop my arm up. I guess a v shaped pillow might help?

Thanks @Allthegoodusernamesareused - that makes sense and I’ll see if that helps my mum. We have loads of pillows so I can give her extra ones for the alignment. Hope your shoulder pain is better now?

I have a plushy cat that is the ideal fatness, for resting my arm on so it is level with my shoulder it's also squishy enough to rest my elbow on during the day. I sleep on my side, I also start off with enough pillows under my head to keep my neck straight. I sleep in a single bed so loads if pillows takes up too much room.
