Hi , I was recently having pains down one of my arms my doctor wanted to do blood tests , blood tests came back low iron and high b12 over had them done twice both the same. Doctor has arranged an appointment but it's not for two weeks time , surly if it was something serious they would contact me sooner than 2 weeks? I have anixity and this is helping.

How high is your B12?

Beansontoast976 · 02/07/2023 11:36

Mine is 800 ng/L. I took vitamin B complex supplement so I guess that is the reason it was high.

Hi did you ever find out why yours was high?. Mine is 2300ng|L i have all symptoms for it being low but full blood count including liver/kidney is normal. Doctors this week but I'm terrified that something is wrong.

Did you get an update on this? Mine is 882 PMol/L and I’ve only noticed, my bloods were 15 months ago 😭

Hey, nope sorry and had another blood test this year it was 4000 🙈 they didn’t even say a word. I do have b12 injections every 2 or 3 months though. That’s not that high?. I think limit is 800 so you’re only slightly over?. If you’re concerned ask for the main b12 one. Are you feeling okay?.

It depends what measurements we are talking about 882 PMOL/L is 1192 PM pg/nl mine converts 😭 I feel ok otherwise it was 15 months ago and I came across it on my app.

the rest of my bloods were fine and I had an abdominal ct scan 2 months after these results to diagnose appendicitis in a&e and nothing else showed up.

im nervous to have it done again, I don’t take supplements or anything 😭

I completely understand, I would get the tests you need done and look up b12 forums because I learnt alot from them. They have lots of great advice.

Hi yes,

So 2 weeks ago my results were high 1700
I was reffered for an ultra sound to check liver kidney stomach etc.
Also they want a urine and stool sample.

From what I have been told it is very worrying to have high b12 , obviously if you are taking supplements or jabs i guess that could be the reason. I dont take neither.

I don’t take anything either and my levels are 882 Pmol/l which equates to 1192 In pg/nl… I’ve spoke to my gp today and he isn’t worried at all, these results were 15 months ago, he’s not even suggested I retest! Ugh 😭😭

I would be seeing another GP honestly. My doctor was/is concerned. She is waiting for my stool and urine test but I have to do that mid period cycle so can't do it yet.
Its obviously to check for blood. She is basically trying to rule out any malignancy. That's what my scan report says

I think the only reason he isn’t concerned is I have had an abdominal CT scan with contrast since the blood results and there was no concerns on any of my organs ( other than the fact I had appendicitis )

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 20/10/2025 20:07

Oh ok that would make sense. Maybe ask for ask for a repeat as it is high for a reason.
