Dd has quinsy - anyone experienced this?

Eek! Dd (20) has just been to Dr and he’s sent her straight to hospital w quinsy. We are 200 miles away as she’s in her uni city & is supposed to be moving into new accommodation tmw!
she seems ok / have just spoken to her & she’s on her way to a&e. I hope it’s not too traumatic 😬 anyone got experience of this?

ExH had it twice. First time nearly killed him. He was very very ill. He had it a second time shortly after but was caught way quicker. Tonsils were whipped out pretty quickly after that. He recovered pretty quickly.
