What Do These Symptoms Mean?

Since Mon 11th, Ive been suffering with constant feeling of nauseousness, bloated/tight tummy, light head and dizziness.

I originally thought it might be pregnancy symptoms, but a test on the 14th cam up BFN. AF was due on 19th, but on evening of 15th I started with light spotting which has gradually increased over the week.
It was all old dirty brown blood, and no bright red blood which I usually expect to see. My AF is normally 4 days, but this has lasted a week and is more of a discharge than blood.

I started with sharp pains to the left of my belly button, almost like a stitch, and although GP said tummy was nice and soft, I was tender in places and she too wanted a pregnancy test doing- results due back 26th.

I did another test myself yesterday which came back BFN as expected, but my pain started getting worse and I also had a hot tingling sensation either side of my eyes.
I went to the on-call doctor, and a sample I gave showed no water infection. He sent me home and told me to take paracetamol to see how I felt this morning. He said it was difficult to tell, but could be either concealed pregnancy, ovarian cyst or bowel problem.

I was sick this morning, but as my pain had eased, I felt it didnt warrant another trip to the hospital. I feel so drained and exhausted though. Ive slept most of the afternoon, and less than a week ago I was beaming, full of energy, and now I cant be bothered with the simplest of tasks.
Im eating as normal, and going to the toilet as normal and drinking plenty of water.

Ive really rested up today but just feel so rotten. Tests are coming back negative, yet Ive felt like this for 10+ days now and its not easing up.

Does anybody have any ideas please?
Thanks

I have no idea chinchi, but just wanted to say that I would ask for an ultrasound scan if I was in your position. Have you not had one????

belgo · 23/02/2008 16:47

yes, I agree with geekgirl

chinchi · 23/02/2008 16:49

They were going to do one if I had gone back in if the pain hadnt eased.
Earlier this morning I had a sharp stabbing in my pelvic area. It lasted nothing more than a couple of minutes really.
My own GP was reluctant to prescribe anything until pregnancy test came back. This feeling just isnt me!

I would insist on an ultrasound scan.

belgo · 23/02/2008 16:52

have you been trying to conceive?

chinchi · 23/02/2008 16:58

Yes we are actively trying. I also have a 6 month old DS, and was luck to conceive him within a couple of months, but this time proving harder!

I would go to the hospital and get a scan, it doens't sound right what you are experiencing

loopylou6 · 23/02/2008 17:26

it sounds very much like an ovarian cyst

chinchi · 23/02/2008 17:27

That was my worst fear

DH agreed I should go back to hospital. Should I wait and see my GP on Monday or go through NHS Direct again?

Im one of these people who panics that Im causing a fuss, but this sick feeling is making me miserable. My head feels light and tingly. Even though my pain has eased up should I still go?

your dh knows you, and if he thinks you should go to hospital, then you should.

Evening ladies

Went to GP this morning- another huge waste of time. Still no answers and wanted more wee to be sent off to check for infection despite the on-call doctor doing this on Friday night.

Have been referred for an x-ray for possible kidney stones, but they wont x-ray until my pregnancy test result comes back (I know its BFN- tested again this morning, but why wont they have my word for it?) Receptionist said results take 7-10 days to come back shock

She prescribed me with co-codemol, but the instructions say not to take them if you have kidney problems? FFS.

Ive got my tribunal in the morning and cant afford to miss it, but this is getting beyond a joke. GP said x-ray results take up to 2 weeks to come back.

What should I do next? Ive been sick again tonight. I am so uncomfortable yet she felt my stomach and said she doesnt feel that its a big emergency.

What the hell do we pay our taxes for???
