Does anyone get inflamed taste buds?

I have a really painful tongue - little white bumps on the tip of it and it REALLY hurts. After lots of googling, I think it is transient lingual papilla, otherwise known as 'lie bumps' or inflamed taste buds.

Just wondered if anyone had any magic remedies? Antiseptic mouthwash seems to help, and judging from google, it should go away in a few days.

TIA!

Don't know if its the same thing but, last year myself, ds1, dd1 and dd2 all got an extremely painful tongue, couldnt eat or anything. I've never known pain so bad and felt stupid telling others my tongue was sore! Unless you've had it you just can't imagine the pain. Gp just said it was a virus and would go away by itself. He prescribed a mouth spray, which did nothing at all, but tongue did go back to normal in a week. Longest week of any of our lives!!
