Shock stage 4 / deep infiltrating endometriosis diagnosis - absolutely no symptoms.

I have been diagnosed with advanced stage 4 rectovaginal endometriosis. My pelvic anatomy is nothing like it should be. As well as endometrial deposits all over including my bowel, my organs are tethered to each other with adhesions. My uterus is glued to my rectum. My small bowel is glued to my ovary. And so on and so on.

I am in absolute shock, because I have had no symptoms, other than infertility.

I wondered if anyone else had experienced this? Apparently at this advanced stage of the disease, having no symptoms is practically unheard of.

I don’t feel like I fit in with the support groups (e.g. on Facebook) as they all have such terrible pain and heavy periods.

Gosh, I can't help but here's a bump.

Very similar. Endometriosis, ademyosis, I had a cervical fibroid and a large cyst (14 x 9 cm) plus some smaller cysts. Lesions & organs stuck together. Other than heavy periods I didn't have a clue. I went to my gp as I suddenly could feel a lump which turned out to be the cyst & referral to gynae discovered the rest.

I was recommended a hysterectomy & until then injections of a drug called Decapeptyl. I was shocked & rather nervous.

A month later covid happened. Hysterectomy put on hold. I continued with the injections, at first monthly, then every 12 weeks.

18 months later I had to go for a pre op scan. Everything had died back. Large cyst had shrunk to a few cms. Smaller cysts had gone. Fibroid had gone. I was amazed.

No longer need a hysterectomy. Decapeptyl puts you into a chemical menopause. I was lucky & had very few meno symptoms. Pleasant side effect is no periods.

Treatment will depend on your age.
