What the heck is this?

Please - no jokes. Over the weekend I seem to have developed a vibrating pelvis on one side. It's every 10 seconds or so. It's not painful but a tad distracting.

Feels like when a mobile phone is in 'vibrate' mode. I haven't lost my phone, nor (ahem) any other vibrating device.

What the hell is it and should I be worried?

Fasciculations?

vibratingvera · 26/06/2023 21:42

It's not really muscle twitching - more a vibration or buzzing sensation

A virus? I know some herpes viruses can cause a sporadic buzzy, tingly, vibrating feeling before the sores appear.

wildfirewonder · 26/06/2023 21:56

NHS says to see GP if you have twitching that continues for more than two weeks https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/twitching-eyes-and-muscles/

I know you say it is vibrating not twitching but you are talking about some kind of spasm?

Does it feel like in the muscle or inside the pelvic bone?

I would want to see a GP if it didn't clear up.

I get this sometimes! It's v v weird. After lots of googling and mumsnet searches i think it might be because of not enough vit B, if i remember correctly.

Wallywobbles · 26/06/2023 22:01

I can feel my telephone vibrate in my back pocket. Which is odd when it's not even in the room. Is it that kind of thing?

vibratingvera · 27/06/2023 03:41

Does it feel like in the muscle or inside the pelvic bone?

It feels like the buzzing is just outside the bone. It's like a mobile phone is leaning against it

I had this. I explained to my gp exactly the same as you, a mobile in my pocket. I can't even remember what he said it was now but was completely nonplussed and didn't worry at all. It has since stopped

MissSmiley · 27/06/2023 05:56

Are you constipated?

Jeffjefftyjeff · 27/06/2023 06:08

If your gallbladder is playing up that can go in to a little spasm and make a kind of vibrating feeling. But that is higher up (right hand side)

vibratingvera · 27/06/2023 06:11

Not constipated. It's on the left hand side.

Shingles?

You can actually get them internally and shingles starts as a tingling sensation

lizziebuck · 27/06/2023 07:45

OMG I have something very similar in my left breast! It's like the feeling you get when your smart watch vibrates but deep inside the boob. I've had it on and off before but yesterday it went on for ages. Most bizarre.

LBF2020 · 27/06/2023 10:19

@lizziebuck same here, I get it in my left breast - mainly when I lean forward. I'm pregnant and now get the same feeling at the top of my uterus (under my ribs)
In my head I think it's blood rushing through as I can't imagine what else it could be.

Are you constipated?

I was going to ask this too I get tapping on the left corner of my pelvis and my left hip bone when I'm trying to rest or sleep
