My child had a scope done today for persistent acid reflux symptoms. The scope showed that the valve that should stop acid travelling up the oesophagus has a gap which is causing her to feel nauseas after food. They also said she has œsophagites.
I don’t speak the native language in the country I live in so we had help from a translator. Something that they didn’t mention, which is written in the results, is gastritis petechiae, which doesn’t sound to me like it would be linked to the acid reflux? They have taken some biopsies, so we’ll get results from those in a few weeks, but I’m obviously worried that there’s something else going on.
Can anyone tell me what gastritis petechiae is exactly and what would cause it?
Thanks
