Dentist versus GP?

I have had ongoing issues which is hard to understand what the issue is. Last year I developed really bad trigeminal neuralgia. I wasn’t sure if it was teeth, due to Bell’s palsy I’d developed or whether it was due to infected salivary gland. I kept being ping ponged between dentist and doctor; eventually X-ray from dentist revealed no issues with teeth they could see, I asked for antibiotics (which dentist was reluctant to give) - went to the doctors who concluded infected salivary gland due to lump in jaw. She changed the antibiotics and with that and amitriptyline for pain it all resolved.

fast forward a year later and I’m getting breakthrough pain again and I’m developing a swelling on my jaw. I had been to the dentist a week ago and she said my symptoms sound like a cracked tooth and recommended proactively taking the tooth out (bearing in mind my xray was clear last year). I said I’d wait and see … then these symptoms I had last year come back. I’ve made an appt with the dentist but they can only fit me in Wednesday. As this swelling on my jaw is coming back and the pain I called the doctor as ideally I’d like to start on antibiotics. I did an e-consult and said to book an emergency appointment. I tried and the dr won’t see me saying it’s a dental thing. I argued I couldn’t be sure it was that - as I have no real confirmation of that. But no they won’t see me! I’m really annoyed. I haven’t been to the GP in over a year so it’s not like I’m banging at their door every week.
