Dodgy stomach after a takeaway

FYI I'm an IBS sufferer however this morning I'm quite opposite to what I'm actually like when it's booting off 🙈. Last night me and my partner decided to order a take away (Chinese) we haven't had one for a long while because we are clean eating to lose some pounds we've piled on over the years 😂 there was absolutely loads on the plate it was brimmed with Chinese food goods I'll admit I got greedy and eat way more than my stomach is used to we drank so much fizzy pop aswell!.

I woke up with intigestion took a rennie but still no luck, my stomach doesn't hurt just aches I feel iffy, tired despite getting over 8 hours sleep I was also getting extreme ovulation pain on top of all this (endometriosis). What could of caused these dull aches? Grease? Just pure greediness? Maybe because we've are so good the dirty grimmy food doesn't agree? What do yous all think?

P.s first time posting so bare with me haha!.

You've over eaten and had lots of food with MSG and all kinds of ingredients you wouldn't have considered.

The quantity of pure fat grease and calories you consumed last night. Makes me feel a bit nauseous thinking about it tbh so I can’t imagine you physically feel shit

I sometimes wake up feeling hungover after a Chinese. I rarely have them because although yummy I can't deal with the extreme thirst and headache they cause - so much salt and MSG, it's not good for you. Especially as you have been eating clean, it'll be your body just having a bit of a rebellion against rubbish food! Hope you feel better soon x

I always feel ill after a Chinese and don't have any gut issues so that doesn't sound surprising.

I understand the desire to have something tasty so maybe next time ease up on the quantity ?

Sweetthicthighs · 25/06/2023 11:41

MSG I totally forgot about that!, yeah I don't think I'll be doing takeaway any time soon I feel sluggish oh and definitely don't do greedy 🙈.. Thank you x

I don't think there's going to be a next time, I hate self inflicting so this is a "never again"

I always get a craving......and think this time will be different 🙄

I think if you have been "eating clean" for ages, and got your body used to that, and then eat a big greasy takeaway with carbonated drinks, then you are going to suffer.

I could have eaten the same meal with no I'll effects because sadly my stomach would not be shocked at all to meet unhealthy food.

It actually never crossed my mind that I'd suffer other than using the loo a little more than usual 🙄 I've actually eaten and urs sort of made it better I'm just not going to order again as much as its tempting with all these adverts ect

Just don't have as much next time, it's probably just the perfect storm of deep fried/cooked in oil, salty food in a large quantity mixed with fizzy drink. If I have a Chinese I tend to just choose a noodle based dish and share a side or something so it's not a mish mash of foods and then drink lots of water. MSG isn't the villain many think it is, it's borne out of ignorance mainly.

Muddygreenfingers · 25/06/2023 14:26

Anything greasy/full of carbs tends to give me discomfort, trapped wind and constipation.
So basically any takeaway (apart from Indian). Homemade or 'doughy' pizza is the worst for it.
