Eye scan opticians appointment

So I had a last minute opticians appointment, thought I was going to have the scan but ended up not having it and only being charged for the routine appt...is it likely the scan could pick up something they may have missed? They said I have 20/20 vision, minor prescription if wanted due to astigmatism.

Probably an OTC scan, they keep an eye on more serious eye conditions. I had one a couple of weeks ago to check as I have some drusen and family history of AMD.
I am getting older, in my fifties and have only recently had OTC scans so I wouldn't worry especially if you are younger.

I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s a new thing as pp said and really only worth it if you want to monitor ongoing eye health issues.

OCT - optical coherence tomography. It's becoming more routine in practice but usually entails an extra charge. A thorough eye examination will look at the back of eye - OCT provides more advanced imaging and earlier detection of any underlying pathology. You sound all good though.
