Pain in foot, thigh, hip, shoulder, all on one side

I am getting pains all day long in various parts of my body. It's in my right foot, thigh, hip and shoulder. All visiting pains that come and go and all on the right side of my body. I feel very bad with it. Pain level of about 3. The pains in the shoulder is the worst.

Any idea what this could be.

Unfortunately I am also stuck in work so I can't even establish what it is and re evaluate and go home and rest.

Now there is a visiting pain coming into my right arm.

It's a visiting, dull ache, quick in nature, a pinchy type of pains.

I once had pain in just one side of my body - back ache, leg, neck, foot, arm etc, plus I also had an eye infection, sore throat, headache. It was shingles, which generally only affects one side of the body I think.
Could that be a possibility?

BunnyBettChetwynnd · 23/06/2023 22:36

Yes, I've had this too and it was shingles. All down my right side - like being flicked quickly with an elastic band, so sudden and sharp I jumped, then dull aches and it made me feel so flat/miserable too. Mine arrived on boxing day, which was nice.

I never had shingles before but now that I think about it, I don't feel very well either but I was putting it down to exhaustion from work. I was having headaches and nausea yesterday which I thought was migraine and I think it was migraine. Today I have some nausea and no headache.

I do feel nauseous now within the past half an hour and I feel feverish but I don't have a fever. It's 37.3

This is exactly how I am feeling.

I never had shingles before. I just googled it. Apparantly a rash can deleveop with blisters and itch.

Would poxclin (the chickenpox stuff) work on that?

If poxclin works I think I might go to the chemist anyways and get it just in case it my condition deteroriates over the weekend.

If it's shingles you can get some anti-viral medication and the earlier you get it the better it works. Can you go into a treatment centre or call 111?

SharkSip · 23/06/2023 22:46

The pains I am experiencing are travelling pains. They visit here and there to various body parts, all on my right side.

Is that what shingles is?

How do I get diagnosed? Do I phone the out of hours doctor?

I think you should ring 111. Not to worry you but a close friend had similar and he'd had a small stroke. (he's only 30, too, though high risk due to other factors)

BunnyBettChetwynnd · 23/06/2023 22:50

I had the travelling pain thing starting on Christmas day and then on Boxing day blisters around my eye. Luckily I saw my GP first thing the next morning and started medication immediately - it turned the pain off like a switch.

Definitely try to speak to a medical professional asap.

I do t have any rash. I don't have any other naesea since Friday night.

The pains have localised to right behind my right bum. It feels it's top of thigh or right hip. There's pain in there and it's more pronounced when I sit.

It's all so strange.

I feel reasonably ok.

Also pain in the area I described above in my previous post when I take steps and walk. Every time my right foot takes a step, there's pain in my right bum.

Seriously no one on here can diagnose you. You need to see a doctor in person. Preferably sooner rather than later.
