External pile - possibly tmi

I’ve had a painful external pile for a week, no bigger than a small blueberry. I thought it was getting better because the pain was almost gone but yesterday after a bowel movement I wiped a there was bits of a small blood clot and the pile was lightly bleeding. I’ve since woken up and found blood at the back of my pants, not loads but enough to make me a little worried and the pile is hurting again. Do I need to see a GP (can they even do anything) or do I just continue with home treatments? Is this normal? I’ve never had an external one before, just internal :(

Have a bath with Epsom salts as often as you can it's very soothing and really helped my horrific pile I'm had for ages.

I’ve only ever had external (maybe one internal when pregnant). They’ve never bled but they’re itchy and annoying. I’d speak to a pharmacist as they may be able to offer advice and will say if you need a GP.

Lashings of vitamin E rubbed in. A good diet or some light laxatives so there's no straining for a few days. Should resolve itself in a couple of days.

OP, I'm sorry to ask a question on your thread but I yesterday on my own thread and didn't get a reply.

Can I ask what the pile feels like when you touch it with your finger? I've got what I think must be a pile - I felt it with my finger when I was showering and washing my bum. It's just a little way in. I'm just a bit concerned that it felt hard rather than squashy. I've not had them before and assumed they'd be squashy. I don't want to ring the doctor if what I'm feeling is normal.

I hope yours will soon settle down Flowers
