Bowel movements after antibiotics!

I've been on a course of cefalexin and metronidazole which I've recently finished (yesterday). At the time it gave me diarrhoea but that's settling. However my bowel movements are still much looser and smell weird and different! I'm assuming it's messed with my gut bacteria. Would a probiotic be a good idea? Can anyone recommend a good one please?

Yes sounds normal.
Yeo valley natural yogurt or kefir.
Have a Google - I think you can buy tablets from Holland and Barret if you prefer.

Unpasteurized Sauerkraut.

But takr it slowly (one teaspoon a day to start)

Another vote for Yeo Kefir and sauerkraut. This one is good https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/311785390

Thanks all. Can anyone recommend some good supplements? The Yeo valley yoghurts look really nice! Not sure I'm brave enough for Sauerkraut!

You can get a course of tablets to populate your gut with good bacteria after antibiotics from a health food shop. Take a course of them and then prebiotics to keep them healthy for a month and you'll be back on track.

I was on the same antibiotics as you. It’s the cefalexin that’s the worst for diarrhoea. I read it can take about a month to get your gut flora back to normal so I took prebiotics and they did the trick
