Pain after appendix surgery

I had a ruptured appendix five weeks ago, the wound has healed nicely but omg still have discomfort/pain in my abdomen and days when I'm on the toilet on and off. Is this normal?

I remember still 'feeling' my appendix pain for some weeks after removal, it did go away

Thank you, I just don't know what's normal. Still get these twinges especially up and down the scar (vertical)

Hi my daughter has the same thing nearly 3 weeks ago. Ruptured appendix removed laparoscopically and then a week in hospital on antibiotics followed by another week of antibiotics at home. She is recovering slowly, more energy now and eating well again. But she still gets twinges of pain. Not enough to need pain relief. Usually before she needs to go to the toilet. We took her back to urgent care last weekend fearful of an abscess or infection and they gave her some antibiotics because her urine sample showed an infection. They did an USS of her pelvis and took bloods and saw noting concerning. I’m so so anxious though.

I think it’s normal. I remember feeling the same and Google brought up stump appendicitis so I was sure I had that but eventually it went away.

I think there’s just lots of healing going on in there!

Hey a bit late to the party but I had my appendix removed 2 years ago now and I often feel the scars. Sometimes it feels like a pulling sensation (quite painful) I had was very ill in hospital with mine, sepsis, collapsed lung and the scars couldn’t heal properly as they kept bursting open when I got home (tried to return to work wayyyy to early) the worst is the inside scar that hurts alot! So no need to worry.
