Bruising

Hi, do these bruises look serious? They don't hurt.

Each day I see new bruises developing when I'm not banging myself or doing anything to cause this bruising.

Could these indicate leukaemia?

Thank you in advance!

Get yourself to the GP and they’ll run some blood tests. Could be a number of things to do with clotting. Have you had any blood tests done?

ChrisPPancake · 19/06/2023 12:35

Are you on any blood thinners? The slightest bump to ddad and he bruises like a peach immediately!

PinkFootstool · 19/06/2023 12:42

Are they definitely all bruises? They look livid, and I wouldn't expect that many bruises to be the same colour at the same time - if they are happening all the time, you'd find some when they were already turning blue, green, yellow etc?

Where on the body are all those marks? How old are you? Any medication etc? It definitely looks like you need to see a GP.

What kind of age are you?

HNN · 19/06/2023 12:51

@Wildspace I had bloods done in January when I was admitted to hospital with very high crp levels and elevated white blood cells and I was kept in for 10 days and I was told I had an infection in both of my kidneys. I haven't had any done since. I do get recurrent water & kidney infections, I have to self catheterise up to 5 times a day as I can't empty my bladder fully on my own. I've had three long term intermittent catheters so I've always just put it down to this. I get ulcers constantly and my mouth is always sore too x

@PinkFootstool yeah they're all bruises. They appear like this all the time. I have a new one on my legs since posting this last night. They aren't painful either.

These are currently on my thighs, my spine, lower and upper arms. I had the odd couple on my right lower leg.

I would recommend seeing your GP and asking for advice. You might have a blood clotting disorder.

HNN · 19/06/2023 12:58

These are older bruises I've had and kept pictures of

@Daisythecat15 I'm going to give them another ring tomorrow as they had no appointments left today. I just keep thinking the worst and panicking x

None of it sound great tbh!
I'd get on to your GP today, don't leave it.

Wildspace · 21/06/2023 05:25

Did you manage to see the GP yesterday? Hopefully they’ve run some more bloods and/or referred to a haematologist.

I had this and it was horrible, Drs would do nothing, my stool sample test came back negative so they ruled out parasites. Turns out I had parasites, liver flukes along with hookeworns. They finally believed me after the worms were protruding through my skin. They had riddled my body. I was infested. My intestines was infected they had eaten holes throughout. Get checked for parasites of you.vam
