Any doctors could look at this red ring around mole

I noticed it on husbands back today. The mole isn’t new, it’s normally a purple colour but the ring around it is new.I’m not sure how long it’s been there. He also has a petechia like rash on his back and sweats a lot on his back at work due to the warm weather and his chair. He thinks it could be ring worm but I’m not so sure.
He will get it checked with GP on Monday but could it be anything minor before I start think the worst?

I'm not advocating anything but I had a mole I was suspicious about and didn't want to wait - I sent a photo of it to a mole checker online. There are a few that do this - you send a photo and it gets reviewed by doctor. It was £20 but I'm glad I did it for peace of mind and it stopped me worrying about it. Maybe something to do in addition until you get your appointment- so if it was something you could say you've been told get checked out!

I’m not a Dr but I had an infected mole once (on my face), I must’ve scratched it and it had a sort of red ring & was puffier (I was v self-conscious). GP said infection and gave me some anti-b cream I think (was a long time ago now) - my glands were a bit up too and it all resolved. But def get it checked asap.

I had something just like that and it was nothing. The mole cancer doc looked (and his colleagues) and deduced it was a nothing. Best of luck
