I started getting a rash on my foot earlier in the week. It’s been pretty itchy parts are dry and the skin peels. Today I wore flip flops thinking the air would do it good but it’s worse and I have a blister now under the sole of my foot too. It’s not from rubbing it’s part of the rash. I’m going to go to the chemist and get something tomo but wondering if this is Athletes foot i’ve never had it before! Not the best photo sorry! Thanks

Dreadful photo I'm afraid.

Can't tell from that pic. However when I got medication for AF the other day, the pharmacist didn't even look at my foot (!). Your symptoms sound like mine, otherwise. My blister is still itching like crazy. Get both cream (for skin) & powder (for shoes)

Sorry we had a power cut last night and only had the light on my phone which didn’t seem to want to actually work as a flash! That’s good didn’t want to be getting my foot out in the shop! Heading to Boots just now and hopefully get something. Never had it before and when I was googling last night I was reading about how hard it is to get rid of 😭 Hopefully if it is i will be lucky 🤞 thanks for the replies x

I suffer with athletes foot and I would say yes. I use the Daktarin spray which seems to work.

vivainsomnia · 17/06/2023 12:12

Yep, exactly that. Over the counter treatment. It will be better after 1 or 2 applications.

Ovasaurus · 17/06/2023 12:28

Looks like vesicular tinea pedis- the only thing that got rid of mine was Lamasil once. Which is a brand name for Terbinafine Hydrochloride. Its a gel that you basiclly apply to your whole foot.

Mammamia2023 · 17/06/2023 14:17

Thanks everyone, i got the stuff today including the spray for my shoes. If that doesn’t work will give the Lamisil a try.

Sorry to disagree but that looks and sounds more like pompholx excema. You need strong steroid cream from a doctor to cure it.

I would agree with pomphylix eczema, extremely itchy blisters that then peel

"Tinea pedis, also known as athlete's foot," says google

Damn, Pompholyx seems like my itchy things too. <muse>

Thanks, it’s more blisters that then peel layer. My dh thought it looked a bit better last night but tbh it didn’t feel it. When i read about athletes foot it was saying about spreading but nothing on the other foot at all. Nothing between my toes either it’s purely the sole of my foot on the instep. Might get dh to take a better photo and send do the dr tomo x

I’ve just googled pomphylix eczema and i have had that, not as severe as the photos mind, on my fingers before. I had a similar rash on my arms for a couple of weeks which i put down to the sun as my medication can cause reactions to the sun. It started to go away when i started taking antihistamines for my hayfever which could be a total coincidence.

Best to get someone qualified to look at it for you.

If it is athlete's foot, this is the way to get rid of it (as advised by podiatrist)

  • lamisil once cream. Put it over your whole feet twice a day until one tube runs out. Make sure to get in between your toes
  • treat your shoes with anti-fungal spray or powder (all of your shoes at once)
  • take all your socks and put them in a 60 degree wash all together. Do the same with any bath mats
JustDanceAddict · 19/06/2023 17:55

Lamisil once is great!
