Any idea what I might be dealing with here?
Mid-40s, in good general health. A blood screen at work picked up elevated bilirubin but no other liver problems. GP said it might be Gilbert’s but come back in a few months to repeat the test
in the meantime, I noticed that a weird little varicose vein on my lower abdomen from pregnancy some years ago, has now become much more prominent and many more veins involved. Dr Google suggests there may be a connection to liver blockage.
There is visible yellowing in the inner parts of my eyes (near my nose)
GP has ordered a ton of blood tests and an ultrasound but mentioned scary sounding things like hepatitis as a possibility
oh and then took my blood pressure which was a little high but possibly not surprising given all that she’d just said!
so while I’m waiting 2-3 weeks for all these tests, does anyone have any insight into what might be going on? Thank you!
