Worried - changes to periods.

In recent months my periods have got longer lasting about 2 weeks. Seems like I have a week or so of very light bleeding or spotting and then a more normal bleed for a week. They are also accompanied by pain but not crampy pain more like discomfort in the cervix area and lower pelvis. Up to date with smears. What could this be? Does it sound like endometriosis?

Fivecandles, I think with questions like this it's always worth seeing the GP. Not because I think there is necessarily anything wrong, rather to put your mind at rest. People can share similar experiences with you on here, but only a GP can give a proper diagnosis. It could be nothing, it could be something which is easily treated - but equally something which could escalate to being more serious if not "nipped in the bud".
